Vyshyvanka Run 2024
On August 25, 2024, Kyiv hosted the 11th Vyshyvanka Run, an annual patriotic sporting event dedicated to Ukraine's Independence Day. The event occurred in the VDNG Urban Park and brought together more than 1200 participants of all ages and training levels.
The Taras Bulba Marathon Club and the Ukrainian company Creative States organized the event.
Participants could choose one of the following courses: 5 km, 10 km, 21.1 km (half marathon), 5 km Nordic walking, or 100 and 500 meters for children. Participation was free for children and combatants.
Each registered participant received a starter pack, which included a branded T-shirt with an embroidered ornament, a running backpack, a bib number with a transponder chip for time measurement, and a commemorative finisher's medal.
Among the official partners and sponsors of the event were the all-Ukrainian retail chain Aurora Multimarket and Glovo, an international company that provides fast delivery services.
A special feature of this year's race was its charitable purpose: 15% of each registration fee was donated to Liberi Studio, a sports medicine and rehabilitation studio that provides free assistance to the Ukrainian military. Thus, the participants attended the sports festival and became part of an important cause, supporting those who defend our country daily.
"The 2024 Vyshyvanka Run proved once again that running is more than just a sport. It is a way to express yourself, unite around shared values, and support each other. And even in times of war, it is an event that gives hope, strength, and inspiration.
